ITAA respond to closure of Platinum Travel
The Dublin based travel agent has announced it has ceased trading
The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) has noted that as of Thursday, 19th December 2024, Platinum Travel has ceased trading.
The Dublin based travel agent announced the closure today, Thursday 19th December. The ITAA is advising holidaymakers who have booked with Platinum Travel to contact the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA). As a licensed and bonded agent, customers may be eligible for a refund. Details on how to claim against the bond can be found on the IAA website (www.iaa.ie).
Customers are also advised to contact their travel insurance provider and examine the charge back policy of your credit or debit card provider for any protection which might be in place.
Clare Dunne, CEO of the ITAA said, “As a bonded travel agent, Platinum Travel customers who booked travel commencing in Ireland may be eligible for a refund under the Authority’s consumer protection scheme. We advise anyone affected to contact IAA and complete a claim form.”
