Over 600 travel trade professionals meet at first major in-person event in two years

Irish Travel Trade Shows open in Cork and Dublin

6th April 2022    Over 600 travel trade professionals are expected to converge in Cork and Dublin this week for the first in person Irish Travel Trade Shows since 2019. Hosted by the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) the Shows will feature international exhibitors and networking opportunities for Irish travel professionals.

 

Pat Dawson, CEO of the ITAA said, “We’re very excited to be able to reconnect face-to-face with the travel industry after the past two years. The Irish Travel Trade Shows are an incredible way to brief the industry and celebrate the return of pre-pandemic travel norms.”

 

He continued, “We are very optimistic that the travel industry is once again picking up. In 2019, the Commission for Aviation Regulation licensed €1.4 billion worth of travel with Irish travel agents and we are aiming to return to that level of business in the coming eighteen months.  The Irish public have an appetite to get back travelling and travel agents around the country are reporting an uptake in holiday bookings.”
