Travel Professionals to discuss current and emerging travel trends in Spain and Ireland at ITAA Annual Conference in Córdoba

 

Irish Travel Agents Association 2019 Annual Conference takes place this week in Córdoba

 

Córdoba, 17th October 2019  The 2017 Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) Annual Conference will take place this week, on Friday the 18th of October 2019, in Córdoba, Spain. 130 travel professionals are expected to attend, where they will stay in the Eurostars Palace Hotel.

 

The theme of this years’ conference is, ‘20/20 Vision and Beyond’, looking forward into current and emerging travel trends, the issue of insurance, Travellers Protection Fund and the future of the travel industry.

 

The conference will be addressed by Paul Hackett, CEO of Click&Go; Josephine O’Reilly, Director of Finance and Travel Trade Licensing, Commission for Aviation Regulation; Eric Drésin, Secretary General of ECTAA, Luke Petherbridge, Head of Public Affairs at ABTA; Ciarán Mulligan of Blue Insurance; Harry Thompson of Worldwide Insurance; Fran Romero, Head of Open Innovation Programs at Amadeus; and Colin O’Brien, Associate Director of Corporate Finance at Cooney Carey. President of the ITAA, John Spollen, will be giving an update on the ITAA, and Eoghan Corry, award-winning Irish travel journalist and editor, will moderate the sessions throughout the day.

 

President of the ITAA, John Spollen, commented; “Events such as these are one of the highlights of the travel trade and press calendars in Ireland as they provide us with an opportunity to meet with colleagues from both home and abroad, as well as discover more about Spain and all that it has to offer as a travel destination. These events are essential for allowing the important partnership between Ireland, Andalucía and other Spanish regions to continue to grow at every level of tourism, culture and business. ”

 

He continued, “Spain has long been a favourite destination for Irish tourists, with over 2 million Irish visiting in 2018, and it is important that we continue to grow and nurture the important relationship between the two countries.”

 

The conference is sponsored by Turismo Andaluz, The Spanish Tourist Board in Dublin and the Tourist Office of Córdoba, with support from Aer Lingus, Travelport, Blue Insurance, Dublin Airport and Cork Airport.

 

The ITAA represents Ireland’s travel Industry, bringing together 100 travel agent members and 70 affiliate partners. ITAA members cover over 140 outlets in different towns and cities throughout the Republic of Ireland. All travel agent members are licensed by the Commission for Aviation Regulation and are fully bonded providing full financial protection for their customers.
