Dublin, 23rd August 2018 The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) have welcomed the announcement of an agreement between Ryanair and its Irish based pilots. The progress follows five days of striking since Thursday, 12th July.

Pat Dawson, CEO of the ITAA, said, “The ITAA is relieved by this morning’s news of an agreement between both parties and we hope that this will stand for the long-term, providing Ryanair passengers with peace of mind when booking. We look forward to other Ryanair bases, outside of Ireland, also working towards lasting, good industrial relationships with the airline, to reduce strike action and disharmony to consumers.”

He continued, “Since the industrial dispute was announced, thousands of holidaymakers have faced uncertainty with travel plans and often incurred additional costs during the peak tourism season. Paramount to ITAA members is a continued, reliable service for holidaymakers and we look forward to an improved travel experience for our customers flying with Ryanair.”

Dawson continued, “We are hoping that both the pilot’s ballot and the Ryanair Board will support the stipulations reached by the negotiating parties as soon as possible.”
