TRAINING DATE: 08/08/2019

Dublin, 26th June 2014 The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) has today expressed relief at the termination of the French air traffic controllers strike which affected thousands of travellers.

Martin Skelly, President of the ITAA said, “We’re pleased that both the French government and unions were able to reach an agreement to end the strike after two days, instead of the planned six. All of our member travel agents are continuing to work closely with affected business and leisure customers to get them where they need to be. We anticipate some flights delays over the next couple of days as backlogs are cleared but thankfully everything should be back to normal by the weekend”.

The ITAA recommends that consumers whose travel plans were affected by the strike visit www.flightrights.ie. The website is a resource for consumers who have had their air plans disrupted and helps passengers to understand their rights and entitlements.

The ITAA represents Ireland’s travel Industry, bringing together 100 member companies covering 161 outlets in different towns and cities throughout the Republic of Ireland. ITAA members are licensed by the Commission for Aviation Regulation and are fully bonded providing full financial protection for their customers.
