A NEW deal that will allow foreign travel agents to book their clients on Ryanair has been welcomed by the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) and by a leading Limerick travel agent. Budget airline Ryanair has signed a partnership deal with Travelport Ltd. The move will make it easier for travel agents to access Ryanair flight bookings both online and offline through the Travelport
interface. Tony Brazil of Limerick Travel said it is part of a Ryanair move to become more mainstream and is to be welcomed because of that and because it will make it easier for travel agents to find the budget options for visitors. “This is an upgrade of Ryanair’s current situation. Rather than the previous system which could give information which was old or inaccurate, this gives a live picture of availability,” Mr Brazil told the Limerick Post. “It’s part of the new Ryanair approach with things like allocated seating. “They have said themselves they are closely following whatever works for Easy Jet and it’s good that they are coming more into the mainstream”, he said.
