ITAA urge Ryanair and pilots to end industrial disputes

Dublin, 3rd August 2018  The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) have urged Ryanair and the Irish pilots to find a resolution as a fifth strike day has been scheduled for Friday 10th August.

Since the first Ryanair strike began on Thursday 12th July, thousands of people have faced uncertainty over travel plans and often incurred additional costs. With a fifth strike day announced this week for next Friday, the ITAA are insisting that both parties meet to make meaningful steps to end this industrial action.

Pat Dawson, CEO of the ITAA, said, “Over the past month, little to no progress has been made as holidaymakers and business travellers continue to face disruptions to their travel plans. We are calling on Ryanair and Irish-based pilots to lift the misery of consumers and talk with or without a third party.”

He continued, “This strike action is extremely unsettling for Irish holidaymakers and with no end in sight, it is unacceptable. Both parties must make moves to resolve these internal issues.”
