The county of Yorkshire in northeast England is the setting for a number of popular TV series and films, and inspired many a writer including the Bronte sisters whose former home we visit. Quaint villages and delightful landscapes dotted with sheep and dry-stone walls are characteristic of the area and its two National Parks, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. This relaxed and gently paced tour takes in both parks and several familiar locations from TV and film.

ITINERARY:
MONDAY 4th SEPTEMBER
Pick up from our designated pick up point and travel to Dublin Port for the ferry to Holyhead. Continue across North Wales and Cheshire then along England’s highest motorway to the hotel in Yorkshire. Time to relax before dinner in the hotel.

TUESDAY 5th SEPTEMBER
Excursion to the village of Haworth, home to the Bronte sisters Emily, Charlotte and Anne. Visit Haworth Parsonage, their home for many years. It is now a fascinating museum dedicated to them. After free time return via the village of Esholt, where Emmerdale used to be filmed. Take a stroll around this charming village and enjoy a drink in The Woolpack which still contains Emmerdale memorabilia. Dinner in the hotel.

WEDNESDAY 6th SEPTEMBER
A lovely trip through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside with stops in the pictureesque village of Grassington, one of the most popular of the Dales villages and Kettlewell, which provided the setting for the fictional village of ‘Knapely’ in the internationally acclaimed film ‘Calender Girls’. Return to the hotel for dinner.

THURSDAY 7th SEPTEMBER
Visit the delightful Victorian spa town of Harrogate with its lovely parks and gardens.  You may like to visit the Royal Hall or the Royal pump House or even the famous Betty’s tea rooms.  Visit the city of York and your driver/ guide will take you on a walking tour through the Shambles to the magnificent Gothic cathedral of York Minster. Return to the hotel for dinner.

FRIDAY 8th SEPTEMBER
Leave Yorkshire after breakfast and return via Holyhead to Dublin, then transfers to original pick up points.
