Evening check-in for early flights takes off at Cork Airport

A family favourite has just touched down at Cork Airport, and promises a hassle-free experience for parents travelling with children.

Aer Lingus has launched an evening check-in service at the airport, allowing passengers the option to check-in their baggage the evening before their flight.

The service, which has received positive feedback at Dublin Airport, leaves passengers free to head straight to security and on to their gate on the morning they take off.

Customers can check-in between 4pm and 7.30pm on the evening before they travel, however the service is available only to those travelling between 6am and 8am the following morning.

One immediate family member can check-in for a group, once all tickets, passports, and bags are provided together.

All other passengers must be present for evening check-in with tickets, passports, and bags.

Meanwhile, Shannon Airport saw passenger numbers rise by 5% last month.

The biggest growth market was the US, the highest spending market for inbound tourism.

There was a an 18% increase during the month of May across the airport’s US network, which has services to Boston, Chicago, JFK New York, Newark, and Philadelphia.
